What Restoration is
A one-off visit by a Red Haven crew to reclaim and tame an overgrown garden. We work through it properly rather than chopping it all down:
Identify what's there and what's worth keeping
Hard prune and rescue the plants that will come back
Clear invasive growth, self-seeded upstarts and genuine rubbish
Re-establish the beds, paths and edges that have disappeared
Remove the green waste
Leave you with notes on what we found and what it needs next
On an acquired overgrown garden, that last part helps most. Working with some established plants can save you money, and the years it takes to get great plants established. There are usually the bones of a decent garden somewhere in there, waiting to be appreciated again. So it’s worth knowing what you've got before you make decisions.
Finding the things worth saving
The difference between a restoration crew and a clearing crew is knowing what a neglected plant looks like versus a dead one, and recognising something good under years of neglect. We've pulled established magnolias, heritage roses and forty-year-old camellias out from under jasmine and privet. They were fine. They just needed someone to appreciate them.
After the restoration
Plenty of clients take it from here themselves. If you'd rather it didn't get away again, restoration is the usual starting point for an ongoing Gardencare plan or a seasonal care plan.
